We Are Live

It’s happened!

Version 2.0 of my website is now officially online, with the domain name transferred over successfully.

To be honest, I was a bit scared about how things would turn out due to prior experience with setting up Version 1.5 a few months ago. Long story short, there were DNS-related tasks that I neglected to carry out, which prevented Version 1.5 from loading up whenever I typed in the domain name in the browser.

Not this time, though. I’ll spare you the technical details since they’re still a mystery to me, but I basically wiped Version 1.5 clear of all records before removing and transferring the domain name, and then refreshing all certificates on Version 2.0.

I’ve even written everything up because I will eventually have to do the same for Version 2.0 for my band’s website further down the line.

If the site design still looks vaguely similar to the previous version, it’s because the theme I’m using is an enhanced port of the original “Beautiful Jekyll” theme. Maybe it’s just how I perceive things, but I’m really digging just how modular Hugo-powered sites can be when compared to Jekyll-powered sites.

Of course, the website is still a work in progress. As I’ve already stated, I still need to think about what to do for the photography section. Beyond that, I hope you’ll enjoy visiting Version 2.0 of “A Snapshot With A Coffee”.
